Enabling EPEL on CentOS 6

The EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) repository for CentOS/Fedora/RHEL/Scientific contains many packages which aren't available in the default repository like htop and various other packages which we use or might want to.

Installing EPEL on CentOS 6 is a one-line command:

yum install epel*

or

rpm -Uvh http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpm

After this it's ideal to run yum update to make sure that you're running the latest software on your VPS or dedicated server.

Done!
