How to Fix: PHPMyAdmin 403 Forbidden Error

This guide is intended for the following operating systems only! CentOS 6 or CentOS 5

Default phpMyAdmin installed path

/usr/share/phpmyadmin 

Apache configuration file is located in

/etc/httpd/conf.d/

The Fix

 nano /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpMyAdmin.conf 

And replace this at the top:

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/>
   AddDefaultCharset UTF-8

   <IfModule mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.4
     <RequireAny>
       #Require ip 127.0.0.1
       #Require ip ::1
       Require all granted
     </RequireAny>
   </IfModule>
   <IfModule !mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.2
     Order Deny,Allow
     Deny from All
     Allow from 127.0.0.1
     Allow from ::1
   </IfModule>
</Directory>

Restart the apache server.

service httpd restart
