How to Install Outline VPN on Ubuntu 26.04

Download the Installation Script

Open your terminal and run the following command to download the Outline installation script:

Make the Script Executable

Change the permissions of the downloaded script to make it executable:

chmod +x outline-install.sh

Run the Script

Execute the script by running:

./outline-install.sh

Make sure to open the following ports:
- Management port (TCP)
- Access key port (TCP and UDP)

Outline VPN has been installed successfully.

During the installation process, the script will prompt you to configure the firewall. Follow the on-screen instructions to allow the necessary ports and complete the installation.

Make sure to securely store the entire API key (including the curly brackets), as you will need to enter it into the Outline Manager to setup/configure your VPN server.

To configure and manage the Outline VPN, download the Outline Manager application from:

Open Outline Manager

Launch the Outline Manager application on your system. In the interface, enter the API key (entire JSON string) you received during installation.
