How to Manage DNS Records in DirectAdmin
Managing DNS records through DirectAdmin helps ensure your domain functions correctly and resolves to the intended destinations.
Steps to Manage DNS Records in DirectAdmin
Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel.
Navigate to Account Manager > DNS Management.
To ADD "A" Record
An A record points your domain or subdomain to an IP address.
In DNS Management, click Add Record.
Select A Record from the dropdown.
Enter the domain/subdomain (e.g., example.com or sub.example.com).
Enter the IP address where the domain should point.
Click Add to save the record.
To Add Nameserver
In DNS Management, click Add Record.
Select NS Record from the dropdown.
Add NS records, such as:
ns1.example.comns2.example.com
Save changes after adding.
To Add SPF Record
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) helps prevent spammers from sending unauthorized emails from your domain.
In DNS Management, click Add Record.
Choose TXT Record type.
Choose SPF in TXT Record Type
Then Add IP address
Save the record.
To Add MX Record
MX (Mail Exchange) records direct email for your domain to the correct mail server.
In DNS Management, click Add Record.
Choose MX Record type.

Enter the mail server hostname (e.g., mail.example.com).
Assign a Priority value (lower numbers = higher priority).

Click Add to save.
Once all records are added, click Save to confirm changes.
